If you’ve been following along with my blog or IG, then you likely know that the dress I’m talking about today is my all-time favourite. It’s my Golden Boy.
So, how did I style Golden Boy for today’s look? I leaned in and went with gold and pearl accents. I was inspired by this article in the May InStyle Magazine and started with some gold lids, and, like my purple look from earlier this week, went all out.

Urban Decay Naked in “Half Baked” and “Smog”
I decided to try a new braid! This four-strand knot braid. Check out this video tututorial by SweetHearts Hair Design.
I’m so obsessed this this dress that I’ve been trying to limit how often I wear it and being very diligent with dry cleanings. A year ago this week I was serving wine at the final department meeting and spilled some of the white on myself (damn you Hulk strength vs wine opener).

I immediately took Golden Boy to the dry cleaners, they washed it twice and the stain didn’t totally disappear. They told me that they could try a different technique but that the dress might get bleached in the process. I said no-way and now hope that no one notices the slight discolouration.
I was online window shopping for new yellow dresses and thought I’d share my current top seven!

Mod Cloth’s Urban and Auroral Dress in Daffodil
This dress is the closest to my current yellow dress. It has a high-ish neckline, a defined waist, and a pleated skirt. The sheer, lace, buttoned-up back of this Mod Cloth cutie adds some cute details!
2. Mod Cloth’s Self Portait of an Artist Dress
I love a good print and this floral number is right up my alley!
3. Mod Cloth’s Let’s Get Down to Citrus Dress
This dress boasts clean lines and a subtle yellow and white damask print *swoon*.
4. Mod Cloth’s Baby I’ve Got Your Sunny Dress
I love how bright this dress is! It’s not at the top of my list, however, because it can’t hide thick bra straps and has a racer back — but it sure is fun!
5. H&M’s Chiffon Dress
Listed under “Party Dresses” — with airy chiffon with interesting details like the neckline and high-low hem — this dress sure fits the role!
6. Banana Republic’s Button-Front Crepe Pocket Dress in “Lemon Drop”
While not my favourite shade of yellow, I like the business casual length and details of this dress.
7. J Crew’s Cotton Poplin Wrap Dress in “Vivid Lemon”
Vivid is right! I love that this dress’s cut suits curvier ladies with its closed back and wrap details.
If you are in the market for a yellow stunner check out some of these dresses! Bye for now — K
